For the past ten years as a weekly volunteer life-story writing teacher, advocate and mentor to inner-city teenaged girls incarcerated in Los Angeles’ Central Juvenile Hall jail, he uses the art of writing as a tool for personal transformation and healing by helping young women facing a life of gang warfare and domestic violence find a path to self-value, hope and love.
